Josephine "Nena" Gonzalez

Josephine “Nena” Gonzalez, 94, of Bethlehem, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Born in Bethlehem she was the daughter of Eugene Gonzalez, who died when she was a youth, and Josefa (Vincente) wife of the late Roman Garcia who raised “Nena”.

Josephine was a graduate of Bethlehem Business School. She worked for the Bethlehem Steel as secretary and translator in the Mining Department. After retiring from the Bethlehem Steel she worked part-time for City Hall. She was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Eugene J. Sacarakis and his wife, Marie; daughter, Ramona L. Sacarakis; daughter-in-law, Nancy Sacarakis; grandchildren, Jennifer Sands and husband, Jonathan, and Michael Sacarakis and wife, Christy; and great-grandchildren: Isabella and Giada Perotti, and Melania Sacarakis. In addition to her parents and stepfather, she was also predeceased by her son, James E. Sacarakis; and brothers, John and Eugene Gonzalez.

Viewing hours will be held in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St, Bethlehem, on Sunday, March 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday, from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Holy Infancy Catholic Church, 312 E 4th St, Bethlehem, PA 18015, with burial at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
