Julia Podhayny

Julia Podhayny, 96, of Bethlehem, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Moravian Village. She was born in Bethlehem, the daughter of the late Julia (Makuvek) and John Sedlock. She was the loving wife of the late Michael Podhayny, Sr. for 59 years before his passing in 2001.

Julia was a member of Sacred Heart Church of Bethlehem and a former member of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church. Her family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed making pierogies, kiffles and pies from scratch for her family and friends to enjoy. She was caring, loving and always had a positive outlook toward those she encountered.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Michael Podhayny, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, Dennis Podhayny and his wife Barbara Reybitz and Kathleen Podhayny and 2 granddaughters. Julia was preceded in death by her son Demetro Podhayny and brothers, Ernest Sedlock and Edward Sedlock.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 9:30-11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church of Bethlehem, 1817 First St. Bethlehem, PA 18020. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery
