Carmen Velez

Carmen Velez, 72, of Bethlehem, died Monday, July 31, 2017 in her home. Born June 2, 1945 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Marcos and Lucia (Correa) Arroyo. She was the wife of the late Francisco Velez who died this past February; they were married 53 years. Carmen was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Zoraida Diaz and husband Angel, Miriam Perez and husband Rafael and Mirsa Rosales and boyfriend Carlos; brothers, Juan and Virgilio Arroyo; sisters, Maria Cardona and Blanca Arroyo; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Francisco Velez, Jr.

Viewing hours will be held in the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem on Thursday, August 3, from 6 to 9 p.m., on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 to 9:15 a.m. A 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at Holy Infancy Church, 312 E. 4th St., Bethlehem. Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
