Catherine Skrivanek

Catherine M. Skrivanek, 87, of Bethlehem, died Tuesday April 11, 2006 in the VNA Hospice of St. Lukes Hospital, Lower Saucon Township. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Dravecz Anderko. She was the loving wife of the late Gustave K. Skrivanek, who died in 2004. They were married 65 years. Mrs. Skrivanek was a long time member of St. Annes Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

She attended Bethlehem Catholic High School, sang with the Beethoven Waldeim Chorus for many years, was a member of the former Bethlehem Steel Club, where she was an active member of the Womens Golf League and the Saucon Ladies. She and her husband, Gus, volunteered with Musikfest for more than 21 years, where they arranged the flowers around Blumenplatz.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda, wife of Joseph Herkalo, of Bethlehem, Patricia, wife of R. Vance Wilson, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; brother, Joseph; her seven grandchildren, Joseph, Laura, Michael, Terry, Timothy, Craig and Jennifer; her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Amanda and Teaghen. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank and Anthony, and sisters, Mary, Anne and Helen.

Services: will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2006 in the Connell Funeral Home Inc., 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, in 11 a.m. in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave., Bethlehem. Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.
