Charles Walchonski

June 13, 1922 — April 5, 2021

Charles Walchonski, 98, of Collegeville, PA, formerly of Bethlehem, PA passed away on Monday April 5, 2021 at Providence Place Senior Living. He was born in Centralia, PA, the son of the late Zachary and Mary (Koselechen) Walchonski. He was the husband of Ann N. (Nottage) Walchonski. They celebrated 72 years of marriage this past June 6th. Charles was a foreman for Bethlehem Fabricators for 22 years. He also worked at the Village Food Market, Hess Marketplace, and Redners Market. Charles served his country in the US Army stationed in Guam during World War II. Charles was an active member of St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church for many years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Charles Stevens and wife Alexandra of Indio, CA, Joseph Stevens of Wells, ME, and Michael Walchonski and wife Natalie of Eagleville, PA, daughters, Mary Diane Darby of Reston, VA, and Carol Cofer and husband Dr. Harold of Princeton, WV, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers Nicholas Walchonski, John “Red” Walchonski, Michael Walchonski, and his sisters, Katherine Masinic, Mary “Mame” Walchonski, Stella Marvin, and Anna Yanisch.

A viewing will be held from 5-7pm Sunday April 11, 2021 at the Connell Funeral Home 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Funeral Mass will be held 11am Monday at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church 1826 Kenmore Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18017. Burial will be held at St. Josaphat Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church. Due to the pandemic we require everyone to wear a mask and social distance.
