Herman W. Whitesell, Sr.

Herman W. “Whitey” Whitesell, Sr., 87, of Bethlehem Twp., died on Friday, September 05, 2014. He was born May 1, 1926; son of the late Walter and Edith N. Whitesell. He was the husband of 35 years to Janice (Currie) Whitesell. Herman proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He worked as a truck driver for 52 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Herman was also a member of the Bethlehem Boat Club, Roosevelt Club, ICC, Heights A.A. and Grover Cleveland. Earlier, he also volunteered his time with the Boy Scouts and Camp Minsi. He was a former member of Salem Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; his sons, Herman Whitesell, Jr. and his wife, Yun; Wayne Whitesell and his wife, Diane; Jeff Whitesell; step-children, Steve Pavloty; Tammy Guidon and her husband, Ed; and Scott Pavloty, as well as his grandchildren, Desiree Pavloty and Katrina Whitesell; and great grandson, Michael Beahm. Herman was preceded in death by his sister, Katherine; and brothers, Miles W. and Randolph E. Whitesell.

Services: A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 10-11 AM at The Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
