Joseph E. Laky

Joseph E. Laky, 83, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. He was born March 19, 1932 in Bethlehem; son of the late Ignatius and Ernestine (Beitler) Laky. He was the loving husband of Rose Ann (Rudzie) Laky. Tuesday November 3, 2015 will be their 59th wedding anniversary. Joseph proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He worked in the maintenance dept. for both the PBNE Railroad and Bethlehem Steel Corp. He also was a former Financial Secretary for the Steel Workers Union and for a short time he worked at Holy Saviour Cemetery. Joseph enjoyed dancing to the Polkas especially during Musikfest and could often be found working outside in his garden. He was also an avid Penn State Football fan, making several trips to Happy Valley.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rose Ann; son, Joseph Laky and his wife, Mary of Palmer Twp.; daughter, Kathleen Ann Laky and son, Michael James Laky both of Bethlehem; five grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank J. Laky and sisters, Anna Dustan, Pauline Hinnerschietz and Marie Rosar.

Arrangements have been entrusted to The Connell Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 417 Carlton Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18015. The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. in the church prior to Mass. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
