Louis S. "Whitey" Hussar, 88, of Northampton, formerly of Lincoln St. in Bethlehem,
died on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Hospice House of St. Luke's in Lower Saucon Twp.
He was born in Bethlehem, the son of the late Vincent and Barbara Hussar. He was the loving husband of Stella Tarola Hussar. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary this past August.
Louis worked for Bethlehem Steel as a straightener and bar turner in the 12x18" rolling mills for 42 years. He retired in 1983. Mr. Hussar proudly served his country during WWII, European Theatre, in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Sergeant with the 460th Bomb Group.
He was generous with his time and talents to friends and family and took pride in his home and yard. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Whitehall and a former life-time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Bethlehem for 68 years.
Louis was also a member of the Freemansburg American Legion and the AFLCIO Local 2599.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Stella, of Northampton; daughter, Barbara, wife of Terry Miller of Northampton; grandson, Scott Miller and his two great-grandchildren, Kira & Karsyn all of Fort Worth, TX. He was predeceased by his sister, Irma Libricz.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Incarnation of our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Visitation will be from 8:30-10 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial with military honors will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.
