Margaret Simonka, 64, of Bethlehem Twp. died peacefully, Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Hospice House of St. Luke's in Lower Saucon Twp.
She was born May 11, 1943 in Gaberje, Slovenia, the daughter of Margaret Szabo Somi of Slovenia and the late Josef Somi. She was the loving wife of the late Laslo Simonka.
Margaret worked for Baba's/Gamet Sewing Factory on fourth St. in Bethlehem for
11 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She had a great love of gardening and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and baking. She was a member of the ILGWU.
Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her mother, two daughters, Magdalena Romig and Amy, wife of Vincent Slepetz both of Bethlehem; brothers, Josef Somi & his wife Mary and Stephen Somi & his wife Mira all of Slovenia and her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Christina and Bradley Romig and Vincent Slepetz, Jr. and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Leslie Simonka.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held, Monday, January 21, 2008 at 9:15 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 1817 First St. Bethlehem, PA 18020. Visitation will be Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem.
