Robert K. Porter, 74, of Bethlehem, died Thursday, September 6, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital in Allentown. He was born May 31, 1933 in Clifton Heights, PA, the son of the late Howard and Helen Tierney Porter. He was the loving husband of the late Frances M. Konrad Porter.

Robert worked as a design engineer for Mack Trucks, Inc., SI Handling Systems in Easton and the Fuller Company. He was also the former owner of Porter's Sandbox Gift Shops and Wedding Services located on Linden St. and West Broad St.

both in Bethlehem. He enjoyed volunteering at Holy Family Manor and participating in various charities including Friends of the Blind.

Robert served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.

He will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Guy Porter of Boyertown and Kenneth Porter & his wife Leslie of Mechanicsburg, two sisters, Bernice Barnes and Theresa "Betty" McBride. He was preceded in death by his sister, Erma Connell and his brother, William Porter.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held, Monday, September 10, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Visitation will be Monday, from 10 a.m. till the time of the service. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, in Bethlehem, PA

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Manor, 1200 Spring St., Bethlehem, PA 18018
