Theresa M. Svajka

Theresa M. Svajka, 94, of Bethlehem, died on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Cedarbrook Nursing in Fountain Hill. She was born in Bethlehem on September 25, 1925; daughter of the late Martin and Theresa (Novanty)Katrinak. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, George Svajka, in 1983.

Theresa dedicated her life to her husband, however later in life she worked for Lehigh University in food service. She was a parishioner of Incarnation of Our Lord Parish where she was a former volunteer and enjoyed working and participating in the Ss. Cyril and Methodius bingo events. Theresa was also a member of the Greek Catholic Union of the United States. When she was able, Theresa found great joy in going to the casino.

She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews; dear friend, Gloria Steirer and her family; as well as the friends that Theresa made at church and while living in the Moravian House in Bethlehem. Theresa was predeceased by her sisters, Anna Anderko, Mary Pingyar, Rose Dzierbecki and Margaret Katrinak; and her brothers, Andrew and Frank Katrinak.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. at Incarnation of Our Lord Parish, 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem, PA 18015 with a Mass of Christian Burial to immediately follow in the church. Burial will be held at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
