William J. Seifert

November 18, 1922 — December 3, 2007

William J. ?Bill? Seifert, 85 of Bethlehem, PA passed away on Monday Dec. 3, 2007.

He and his wife Margaret M. Bednar Seifert celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on Sept. 25, 2007.

Bill worked for the former Lehigh Valley Railroad/Conrail for 37 years as an office supervisor before retiring in 1982. Previously Bill worked for S&G Menswear in Bethlehem.

Bill loved music and played trombone in many local bands; Harry Romig, Matt Gillespie, Budd Peters, Vincent Joseph and Dave Neith.

He was a member of the Bethlehem Elks, and a member of the Bethlehem Elks Band. He was a private music teacher in the Lehigh Valley for more that 20 years touching the lives of many aspiring musicians.

Bill proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine Bandsman during WW II and during the Korean Conflict and continued his patriotism by being a member of the Hellertown American Legion.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Margaret, his son Gregory W. Seifert and his wife Kimberly Wesner Seifert of Bethlehem; sisters, Jeanette Fiorentino of Dover, PA; Ruth Seifert of Bethlehem and Lucille Mann of Milford, NJ and his brother John Seifert of Point Pleasant, NJ in addition to several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister Claudine Bidewell and brother George.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, December 6, 2007 with visiting hours from 9:30-11AM at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem, PA.
