Anita M. Gennaro, 79, of Bethlehem, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, NY on February 18, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Calogera (Becchina) and Giuseppe Olimpieri. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph J.Gennaro.After many years of service, Anita retired from Waldbaum's Supermarket in New York. She enjoyed watching old game shows. Anita loved her family and cherished her time spent with them.She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Nina Bonavita and her husband, Joseph and Lillian Sheridan and her husband, Michael; son, John Gennaro; sisters, Phyllis DeRosa and Sister Jo Marie Olimpieri; five grandchildren, Christina, John, Joseph, Michael and Emily and two great granddaughters, Eleanor and Callie. Anita was preceded in death by her sisters, Loretta Clemente and Lillian Walker.Viewings will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. and also 5-7 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be held at Washington Crossings National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd.
