Anthony John “Tony” Sabia, 78, of Bethlehem, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenburg.

Born on June 20, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Anthony J Sabia, Sr. and Concetta (Barresi) Sabia. Preceding Tony in death were his son, Robert B Sabia and sister Frances Conaway.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Lynda May Sabia; sons, Anthony (Dieter Zerressen) Sabia and Fitch (Maria) Jefferies and daughters, Debra Sabia, Colleen (Michael) Martucci and Jennifer Jones; and his brothers, Paul (Lori) Sabia, John (Mary) Sabia and Peter (Kathleen) Sabia. 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and all of his nieces and nephews will mourn his passing and miss his kind, gentle spirit every day.

Tony and his wife, Lynda, loved to dance and smiled at each other the entire time. He was a lovable, friendly guy who had the ability to connect with people immediately with his positivity and infectious laugh. He had a heart of gold which was evidenced as he was caregiver for his wife since her cancer diagnosis 18 months ago. He also worked at various senior assisted living facilities well into his 70’s. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing pool.

Early in his life, Tony worked as an auto mechanic for Eckner’s Garage in Planfield, NJ, and for many years at STS Auto and Sears in South Plainfield, NJ and Allentown, Pa. He most recently worked for Atria, Lehigh Valley until his retirement. Tony loved his family and friends, and they will miss him dearly.

Services will be announced at a later date.
