Bernadine S. Piccirilli

August 20, 1920 — April 29, 2006

Bernadine ?Bernie? S. Piccirilli, 85, of Bethlehem, died Saturday April 29, 2006 at the Hospice of The VNA of St. Luke?s, Lower Saucon Township; surrounded by her loving family. Born August 20, 1920 in Catasauqua; she was the daughter of the late Justin P. and Stephania V. Monak Zachar. She was the loving wife of the late Carmen P. Piccirilli. They were married for 60 years when he died in December of 2000.

Bernie was a member of St. Anne?s Roman Catholic Church of Bethlehem and their Sodality, and the Catholic Slovak Sokol. She was a Bridal Consultant at the former Stone?s Department Store. She retired after many years as Manager at Alice Kay and loved serving her many loyal customers. She was also a member of the Bethlehem Senior Center Exercise Group.

She will be lovingly remembered by: daughter, Beverly wife of Ronald E. VanBuskirk of Bethlehem Township; sons, Dennis Piccirilli of Bethlehem Township and Michael Piccirilli husband of Mary of Chesterfield, MO; six grandchildren, Sherry Kaplan of Franklin, MA, Debra VanBuskirk of Red Lodge, MT, Ronald D. VanBuskirk and Amy Duh of Bethlehem Township, Andrew and Jennifer Piccirilli of Chesterfield, MO; six great-grandchildren, Aaron Kaplan, 9, Joshua Brown, 14, Jacob Brown, 11, Kaitlin VanBuskirk, 13, Nathan VanBuskirk, 10, and Garrett Duh, 6. Bernadine was preceded in death by: four sisters, Mildred Teebagy, Pauline A. Onuschak, Agnes H. DeJonghe and, Anna M. Burkholder.

Arrangements are being handled by Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St; Bethlehem where calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 3rd from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday May 4th from 9 to 10 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, in the funeral home. A 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the St. Anne?s Catholic Church, 450 Washington Ave; Bethlehem, PA 18017. Burial will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made St. Anne?s and the VNA of St. Luke?s, 1510 Valley Center Parkway, Suite 200; Bethlehem, PA 18017.
