Brian Richard Kalamar, 58, of Bethlehem Township, died unexpectedly on May 16, 2026. Born on June 26, 1967, he is the son of Lorraine (Yeakel) Kalamar and the late Richard E. Kalamar.
Brian was the devoted husband of Wendy (Krisak) Kalamar. Together, Brian and Wendy shared 10 beautiful years filled with love, laughter, silliness, and cherished memories. They were married on August 1, 2020, and their marriage was grounded in deep faith, devotion, and unwavering love for one another.
He was a compassionate man who cared deeply for others and had a natural ability to make friends wherever he went. Known for being a wonderful listener and giving the best hugs, Brian loved spending time with his family, especially trips to Ocean City, Maryland, a place he truly loved and found great peace. He was also an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed fishing. Brian was proud to coach his son in ice hockey from the age of 5, where they created lifelong memories and friends.
A man of deep faith, Brian was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church. Before marrying Wendy, he converted to Catholicism so he could receive Holy Communion with her on their wedding day. He volunteered faithfully through the church and other organizations and lived his faith through kindness, generosity, and service to others.
Brian graduated from Penn State University, where he played baseball, and later earned his MBA from Allentown College of St Francis de Sales . He worked as a financial advisor for Wells Fargo Advisors in Allentown.
He was a caretaker by nature, and someone with a wonderful sense of humor. He was the most loving husband, a very good son, dedicated father, a kind brother, a wonderful uncle, and a loyal friend whose presence brought comfort to many. Family was incredibly important to Brian and he made sure to be available for anyone at any time. Over the years, one of his favorite things was hosting Sunday family dinners.
Brian will be dearly missed by his wife, Wendy; son, Matthew Kalamar; mother, Lorraine; brother, Scott Kalamar (Linda); sisters-in-law, Paula Fehlinger (Dan) and Lisa Comperatore; nieces and nephews, Kelsey, Scott (Sarah), Colin, Carter, and Caroline; great-nieces, Oaklee and Scottie; aunt, Jean Wiest; father-in-law, Johnny Krisak; along with extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty Krisak, his aunt, Gwyneth Kalamar, and uncles, Stephen Kalamar and Don Wiest.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home. The family will receive guests on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, 1816 Catasauqua Road, Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. in the church. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Wendy strongly encourages memorial contributions be made to Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.
