Carmen Lydia Rodriguez

Surrounded by her loving family, Carmen Lydia Rodriguez, 89, passed away on December 20, 2023, at her Bethlehem Twp. home. She was the wife of the late Juan “Nalin” M. Rodriguez who died February 21, 2017. Carmen was born in Corozal, Puerto Rico on April 26, 1934, to the late Juan and Anicasia (Rivera) Trinidad. After moving to Bethlehem, she met and married the love of her life in 1954. As a skilled seamstress, Carmen worked at Mariner’s Motif in Miller Heights before retiring at the age of 74 from A & H Sportswear in Easton. Carmen loved sewing special clothing for family and was an excellent cook with a great sense of humor. She was a Ladies Auxiliary member of the Puerto Rican Beneficial Society, and a lifelong member of Holy Infancy Roman Catholic Church, both in Bethlehem.

Carmen is survived by her children: John (Susan) Rodriguez, James (Susie) Rodriguez, Freddy Rodriguez, Doris (Barry) Correll all of Bethlehem Twp.; siblings: Rafael Trinidad, Iris Pena; brother-in-law Romulo Rodriguez and sister-in-law, Marie Kerbacher; grandchildren: Aileen, Chad, Alicia, Nicole, Amber, Ryan, Matthew, Kyle, Jodi, Adam & Jessica; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 11 siblings.

Family and friends are invited to her viewings 6-8pm Tuesday, December 26, 2023, and 8:30-9:30am Wednesday, December 27, 2023, both at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Holy Infancy Roman Catholic Church, 312 East 4th Street, Bethlehem. The interment will conclude service at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Online condolences may be offered at connellfuneral.com.
