Carol J. Cook, 80, of Slatington, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026 at her home. Born on August 22, 1945 in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Alexander A. and Agnes B. (Bernatovich) Koch. Carol was the wife of the late Richard F. Cook who passed away in 2011.

Carol attended Bloomsburg University and NCACC. She married the love of her life, Richard at sunset on May 19, 1994 on a 3-masted schooner out of Key West, FL. The ship was operated by an all-female crew, including the captain who married them.

Carol went on to have various jobs throughout her life---she worked as a customer service representative for Sunguard-Pentamation, an administrative assistant for former congressman Don Ritter, legislative aid for former senator Roy Afflerbach and an insurance agent for fire and auto insurance in the Lehigh Valley. She was also an active member of Bethany Wesleyan Church in Cherryville, PA for many years.

Carol will be dearly missed by her daughter, Jamie L. Whisman; Step-daughters, Cheryl Tyler and her husband, Michael and Susan Mooney and her husband, Peter; Brother-in-law, David A. Cook; sister-in-law, Roberta wife of Fred Kline; grandchildren, Liam Gorman, Jillian Gorman, Daniel McFetridge and his wife, Katie, Eric Tyler and his wife, Erica, Brittany Saraceno and her husband, Matt, Joseph Mooney, Dennis Mooney and Jessica Mooney; and two great-grandchildren, Emmy and Mason.

In addition to her parents and husband, Carol is preceded in death by her daughter, Wanda J. Magan; sister, Loretta L. Lindsay; and sister-in-law, Karen Caron.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 10-11:30 at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.
