Charles J. Donches, Jr. passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025 in Fort Myers, Florida. He was born in Bethlehem, PA on September 17, 1940. He graduated from local schools and also from Moravian College with a Bachelor of Science degree. He served in the US Air Force from 1958-1963 stationed in Alaska, South Carolina, and several other bases. He was an Information Systems Auditor for Bethlehem Steel Corp. and worked at IU International and Computer Aid before retiring to Florida.
While in Florida he volunteered at the Special Equestrians Inc., a therapeutic Riding Center offering equine assisted activities and therapies in Fort Myers, Fl serving children and adults with disabilities. He served on various committees in Bethlehem, PA as well as the Legends Golf Club in Florida participating in redesigning the Club's golf course. His love of the game of golf rewarded him with "THREE holes-in-one"! Hobbies he thoroughly enjoyed were operating drones and building and operating Micro RC planes. He and his wife loved to travel taking cruises and making several trips to Europe.
He is survived by his wife Joanne (Transue), daughter Krista Glenn (Neal) and son Charles Ill (Kristen); grandchildren Megan, Rachel, Max and Maddy; siblings Helen, Steve (Sally), Margaret and Diane Amore (Gregg). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Charles J. Sr. and Helen (Bartos) and his brother, Joseph and his nephew Thaddeus.
His funeral Mass and burial will be held in Fort Myers, Florida. A Mass in his memory will be celebrated September 27, 2025 at Incarnation of our Lord Church in Bethlehem, PA (formerly SS Cyril and Methodius) at 4:15 pm given by his three sisters.
