Christine A. Baran, 76, of Bethlehem, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at The Vero at Bethlehem. Born on December 25, 1949 in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late Richard F. Hartz and Isabella (Berry) Hartz.

Christine spent the majority of her career as an administrative assistant with the Bethlehem Area School District. She brought kindness and professionalism to her role, ultimately retiring from East Hills Middle School in 2012.

Outside of her career, Christine had a vibrant passion for life. She found joy in gardening, often nurturing her plants with the same love and care she extended to her family. She also relished the excitement of casino trips to Wind Creek and Mount Airy, where many precious moments were shared with friends. Additionally, Christine cherished her time spent at Lake Wallenpaupack, where she enjoyed the beauty of nature and the tranquility it offered.

Christine will be dearly missed by her two sons, Michael J. and Eric R. Baran; sister, Debra Renner and her husband, Russ; two grandchildren, Chase and Piper Baran; sister-in-law, Cathie Baran; and many cousins, nieces & nephews, as well as additional family members.

In addition to her parents, Christine is preceded in death by her husband, John D. Baran who passed in 2005.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 1700 Airport Rd., Allentown, PA 18109. We will meet at the main entrance off of Airport road and proceed together to the grave.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association https://www.alz.org or Family Pillar's Hospice, 3900 Adler Pl, Bethlehem, PA 18017.

Christine's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff at The Vero and Family Pillar's Hospice for the wonderful care they gave their mom.
