Bethlehem

Daniel A. Bayak, 80, of Bethlehem, passed away on March 18, 2026. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Charles and Emma (Ivanitch) Bayak.

Dan proudly served in the United States Navy before earning his Master's Degree in Accounting. He began his career as a CPA and later found his true calling in education. For many years, he taught accounting at several colleges and universities throughout the Lehigh Valley where he was known for his quick wit and his commitment to teaching.

When Dan was not teaching he had a passion for traveling and he often talked about the fond memories that he had and tales from afar.

Family and friends were central to Dan's life. He was always ready to lend a hand, offer support, or quietly help someone who needed it. His kindness and steady presence will be deeply missed.

Dan is survived by his brother, Ronald Bayak (Jackie); his nieces, Kim Britcher (Michael), Paulette Johnson‑Ruch (Chris), and Tonya Bayak (Jarrod Clouse); and his cousins, Raymond Ivantich and Joann Edelman. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Bayak Dudra.

Services with military honors will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dan's memory to St. Anne's Church, 450 E. Washington Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18017, or to the animal shelter of your choice.

Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem, is entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at ConnellFuneral.com.
