It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Daniel J. Maffea, who left this world far too soon on May 29, 2026, at the young age of 20. Born on June 28, 2005, in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Daniel was a beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend, who was cherished by all who were fortunate to know him.
Daniel lived life with a vibrancy that was infectious. Known for being the "life of the party," he had an unparalleled ability to bring laughter and joy into any room. His artistic talents, combined with his hard work as a landscaper for ABC Lawn & Landscaping and part time at Aluminodi Customs doing mechanical work and CNC printing, which showcased his creativity and dedication to making the world a more beautiful place. He served as a volunteer firefighter with the Fountain Hill Fire Department, exemplifying courage and a commitment to helping those in need. Daniel lived by the motto, "If I am not tired by the end of the day, I didn't work hard enough," a testament to his unwavering work ethic and passion for life.
Daniel loved teaching kids the art of baseball, sharing his enthusiasm and skills with the younger generation. He was also an avid car enthusiast, often attending car shows to connect with fellow admirers of automotive beauty.
Daniel's spirit will forever be carried on by his loving father, Danny Maffea; his devoted mother, Angela wife of Scott Rader; his grandparents, Rodney and Patricia Lamberton; his siblings, Aubrey Maffea, Meado Maffea, Joseph Maffea and Cayden Rader; longtime girlfriend, Cadence Leis, his beloved niece, Evangeline Santiago and Godson, Jackson Carr, along with many Aunt, Uncles and cousins. Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Judy and Daniel Maffea.
In recognition of Daniel's selfless spirit, he has been honored as a Gift of Life Hero, a gentle reminder of the impact he made during his time with us.
A public viewing will take place at Connell Funeral Home the evening of, June 5, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A memorial service celebrating Daniel's extraordinary life will be held on June 6, 2026, at Connell Funeral Home, beginning at 1:00 PM. Prior to the service, a calling hour will be observed from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, allowing friends and family to gather and share their memories.
