Deborah Csaszar

Jan 28, 1953 — Jul 1, 2026

Bethlehem Township

Deborah "Debbie" Csaszar passed away peacefully at her home on July 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was 73 years old. Born on January 28, 1953, in Wilson PA, Debbie was the cherished daughter of the late Edward and Betty Jean (Rose) Yost.

For 53 beautiful years, Debbie shared a loving and devoted marriage with her beloved husband, Lawrence Csaszar. Together they built a life centered on love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to each other and their growing family. Their marriage was a true testament to commitment and enduring love.

Debbie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and kind heart. She possessed the patience of a saint and had a way of making those around her feel comforted simply by being there. A woman of few words, she was the trusted keeper of family stories and secrets, always offering quiet strength and steady support to those she loved. She was never quick to give advice but instead offered the quiet comfort of a listening ear and an open heart. Through her gentle presence, she gave those she loved the lasting gift of confidence, independence, and the strength to find their own way.

Debbie always welcomed people into her life and home without even a second thought. Her vision of family far extended beyond the relatives. She has often been called a second Mother to many. She found her life's purpose in caring for others as a Registered Nurse. She was considered a Legend by many who had the privilege of working alongside side her. She led by example, inspired others to be their best, and took great pride in mentoring those around her, leaving a lasting legacy that will continue through the many lives she shaped.

She always enjoyed scrap booking, making applesauce, baking cookies, cheering on her grandchildren during their sporting events, making blankets and most recently post-retirement cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies.

Following her graduation from St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1973, where she graduated as a Registered Nurse, Debbie began her nursing career at St. Luke's Hospital as a Med Surg nurse until 1979. After staying home to raise her family, in 1983 she dedicated herself to the field of skilled nursing and rehabilitation. During the course of her tenure she held many different roles within the organizations of Leader Nursing Home, Manor Care, HCR Manor Care and Promedica. Her most distinguished roles for the organization included serving as Director of Nursing and also as a Regional Quality Assurance Consultant. Towards the end of her nursing career she was excited to return back home to her family at the Bethlehem 2021 location again as a Director of Nursing. Debbie officially retired in 2022 after almost 45 years of dedication to caring for the needs of others.

A 1970 graduate of Easton Area High School, Debbie proudly participated in the marching band, where she played the glockenspiel. She was a former member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Easton, where she shared her musical talents by playing both the organ and piano. She was also a member of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.

More than anything, Debbie treasured her family. In addition to her husband, Lawrence, Debbie is survived by her loving children, Dawn Witzel and her husband, Eric; Matthew Csaszar and his wife, Kris Anne; Erin Taney; and Amanda Hendricks and her husband, Jeremy. She is also survived by her sister, Martha Gall and her husband, James, and their son, Andrew. She will be dearly missed by her cherished grandchildren, Brendan (Briyonna), Samantha (DeAngelo), Brady, Rebecca (Johnny), Jacob, Lucas, Brynlee, Braxton, and Emlyn; her great-grandchildren, Sabrina, and Adrianna; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, colleagues, and dear friends.

An open casket visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018, followed immediately by a funeral service at 7:00 pm.

Interment of Debbie's urn will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Bethlehem Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet at the entrance to the cemetery on Dewberry Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider donating a gift card to your favorite local restaurant for Debbie's husband to enjoy special meals with their grandchildren. One of Debbie and her husband's greatest joys was sharing a meal together. It is our hope that these gift cards will create opportunities for him to continue making cherished memories with the grandchildren she loved so deeply, one dinner at a time.
