Dennis Fred Kantz, 77, of Bethlehem, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Elizabeth "Betty" J. (Swegel) Kantz. Dennis was born January 28, 1949 in Fountain Hill to the late Emil W. and Mary (Bogar) Kantz. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Dennis worked for the former Bethlehem Steel as a Welder for 30 years. Beyond his professional life, Dennis had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed building models, tying flies for fly fishing, and hunting. His love for fishing led him and his family to annual trips to Canada, where he created lasting memories. He was also a regular at Mahoney's Irish Pub in Allentown, where he cherished spending time with friends.
Survivors: In addition to his wife of 56 years; sons: Christopher R. Kantz and his wife Alicia of Fountain Hill, Jared D. Kantz of Nazareth, John D. Kantz of Nazareth; brother: Dean A. Kantz and his wife Karen of Bethlehem; grandchildren: Alicia Kantz, Michael Kantz, Brittany Leister, Cassidy Rhoda; great grandchildren: Dylan, Parker, Jaylee, Emmett; niece: Tiffany A. Kantz of Bethlehem.
Service: Family and friends are invited to his visitation 10 - 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem followed by military honors and a prayer service at 11 a.m. The burial will be private.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc., 1013 Mumma Road, Suite 203, Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
