Dolores R. Alderiso, 98, died peacefully in Royal Palm Beach, Florida on August 18, 2025. She was born in Jersey City, NJ to Arthur and Mildred (Ruggles) Schloerb. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas Alderiso whom she was married to for 68 years before his passing.
Dolores worked for Western Electric where she met her husband. They lived in Newark, NJ and Metuchen, NJ where they raised their family. After living and enjoying life at the Jersey Shore, they moved to Bethlehem, PA to be near their children. In the last years of her life, she enjoyed the warm weather and palm trees of Florida. Dolores was a kind, calm and nurturing mother and grandmother. She loved watching sports, especially the NY Giants and her favorite team the NY Yankees. Her pastimes were reading, cooking, puzzles, movies and listening to music. She always enjoyed her time at the casino. Above all, she loved to draw and paint and created many paintings that will be cherished by her family. She and her husband owned horses and had many years of breeding and racing horses. She loved her four legged family members, including her many dogs and grand dogs. Her recent years of living with her grand dog, Slipper, brought her tremendous joy.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Novak and her sister Evelyn Laraway. She is survived by her son Jamie and his wife Tish and their children; Jamie and Jessica, her son Michael and his wife Nancy and their children; April, Nick and Alan (Heim), son Nick and his wife Fulvia and their children; Nicky, Erik and Lorenzo, daughter Jean Mercade and her husband Iggy and their children; Michael, Anthony and Elena (Nigito) and son in law John Novak and his children John and Tara(Webb). She had 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 3219 Santee Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18020. Inurnment will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park.
