Donald B. Corriere

Donald Blaise Corriere, 87, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, while doing what he enjoyed, working on and caring for his property. He is the devoted husband of Carol Ann (Kroenig) Corriere, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, partnership, and cherished memories.

Born in Easton, PA, on June 1, 1939, Donald was the son of the late Joseph N. Corriere, M.D., former chief of surgery and head of the urology department at St. Luke's Hospital and the late Rose A. (Ponsetto) Corriere, a nurse anesthetist.

A lifelong student of the law and accomplished athlete, Donald attended Northeast Middle School and The Hill School before earning his bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. While at Michigan, he distinguished himself as an All-American wrestler. He was team captain, two-time Big Ten champion, placed third in Nationals and qualified for the Olympic trials. These accomplishments were a source of pride that remained with him throughout his life.. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan and devoted more than five decades to the practice of law.

Donald dedicated his career to public service and the legal profession. He served as a member of Bethlehem City Council from 1976 to 1980 before being elected Northampton County District Attorney, where he proudly served three terms from 1980 to 1992. Throughout his career, he also served as a public defender and Northampton County commissioner. In private practice, he concentrated on municipal law and domestic relations, representing numerous municipalities and clients with dedication and integrity. He also shared his knowledge of the law by teaching business law at Moravian University.

Known for being tough, athletic, hardworking, and deeply dedicated, Donald approached every responsibility with determination. He gave his all in everything he did. He was an excellent provider for his family and took great pride in the life he built with Carol.

Outside of his profession, Donald had a passion for sports and remained a devoted University of Michigan supporter throughout his life. He was also a loyal Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed attending athletic events. Donald was a member of Saucon Valley Country Club and regularly attended Lehigh University's Zoellner Arts Center shows with Carol and his son Michael. He enjoyed traveling, going out to dinner with his longtime friends, and following the stock market. He loved his home and property, spending countless hours working outdoors, finding satisfaction in caring for the home he treasured. Donald valued spending time with his three grandchildren. One of his greatest joys was watching them participate in sports and celebrating their accomplishments.

In addition to his beloved wife, Carol, Donald is survived by his son, Attorney Michael Corriere; his daughters, Christina Andres and her husband, Edward, and Julie Corriere; his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Joey, and Annemarie; his brother, Dr. Joseph N. Corriere and his wife, Eileen; his sister, Grace Conti, wife of the late Edward Conti; and many extended family members, friends, and former colleagues, who will remember his remarkable life and lasting contributions.

Donald's legacy is one of public service, professional excellence, unwavering dedication to his family, and a lifetime spent serving the people of Northampton County. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.

Willow St., Signal Hill, CA 90755, Philanthropy - Food Allergy Institute an organization that held special meaning to Donald and his family after curing his granddaughter Annemarie of her severe food allergies.
