Eleanor "Ellie" Trumbore

Eleanor "Ellie" Trumbore passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026 at Arden Courts of Allentown. She was born on August 6, 1944, to the late John and Mary (Malacsics) Hoffer. She married her love, Jack, on April 15, 1967. She was of the Catholic faith.

Ellie worked full or part-time for 45 years. She loved to shop! That all started with her first job at PPL where she spent every lunch hour for 8 yrs at Hess's. When children came along, she worked part-time at AD Computer for 11 yrs. Her husband's job at Bethlehem Steel had the family transferred to beautiful Hershey, PA. While there she worked for Pulte Homes and one of her favorite jobs, full-time secretary to the Principal at Hershey Elementary School for 3 yrs.

When family transferred back to Bethlehem in 1986, she took a part-time "Christmas" job at the Moravian Book Shop. This eventually led to full-time employment there. She retired as a buyer in 2007, after 20 years, to spend time with her grandchildren. She loved to eat breakfast at Borderline Restaurant with her family.

Ellie is survived by sons Kevin (Sue) and Mark (Amy) Trumbore; 3 wonderful grandchildren, Courtney, Megan & Chris; a sister, Gloria (Tom) Christman; a brother John Hoffer, Jr; and nieces & nephews. Ellie loved it when the whole family came to her house for the annual egg hunt on Easter!

Services will be private at convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Inc., Bethlehem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one's choice.
