Ernest Rittoper

Ernest Rittoper, 81, of Bethlehem, died Saturday, April 22, 2006 at VNA Hospice of St. Luke's in Bethlehem. Born March 13, 1925 in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Joseph Rituper and Theresa Ballek Rittoper. He was married to Louise C. Becker Rittoper for 59 years. Ernest served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion in Hellertown and was past president of Lehigh Little League from1965 to 1969 where he was instrumental in constructing the current baseball fields on Schoenersville Road. He was active in the property committee at the church. He was a lifetime member at the Westside Republican Club. Ernest was also a member of the Torpedo Men?s Association. In his free time Ernest enjoyed repairing clocks. He worked for AT&T Bell Lab as a Tool maker for 27 years where he retired from in 1987. Ernest will be lovingly remembered by his wife Louise, son, Mark Rittoper and wife Sheila of Bethlehem, daughter, Elaine Rittoper of Bethlehem, sisters, Helen Kadar of Wilson, Elsie Rentzheimer of Hellertown, Elizabeth Reinhard of Bethlehem, grandson Brandon Haydt, and two great grandchildren Byron and Brynn. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Rittoper. Services: A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 514 3rd Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18018. Arrangements are being handled by Connell Funeral Home Inc.
