Frances D. Doddy, 82, of Bethlehem, passed away on January 16, 2026, at New Eastwood Healthcare in Easton.
She was born on January 4, 1944, in Allentown, daughter to the late Joseph and Violet (Palluch) Inhoff. She is the beloved wife of Richard Stephen Doddy, the two were married for 54 years.
Frances was a helper; when she noticed that help was needed, she stepped in without hesitation. Anyone who needed support, Frances was always ready to make things better.
She was a proud graduate of Fountain Hill High School and spent more than 20 years working as a receptionist with Lehigh Valley Hospital Network, where her steady presence and caring nature were appreciated by all who knew her. Earlier in her career, she worked for PP&L and in the real estate industry.
Frances had a deep love for plants and never missed a chance to attend the Philadelphia Flower Show, which was a yearly highlight she looked forward to with genuine excitement. She loved doing cross stitch and gifted many of her completed pieces. Her love of Christmas, led to many collections of Christmas décor. Her grandchildren were truly the center of her world, and she found her greatest joy in time spent with them.
A lifelong animal lover, Frances adored her pets, especially cats. She was also a loyal Philadelphia sports fan, always rooting for her hometown teams.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Richard; daughter, Tanya Doddy (Ray Neeb); grandchildren, Joey, Jackson, Lindsay, and Ryan, brother, Joseph (Linda), as well as extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 8:00 to 9:15 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church, 1861 Catasauqua Road, Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Holy Saviour Cemetery, 2575 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Those wishing to attend may meet at the entrance to the cemetery from 8:45 to 9:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.
