Francis "Fran" Hegarty

Fran Hegarty, 63, of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026.

Fran was a proud husband, father, and brother, and a man who dedicated his life to his work and providing for his family. He was known for his strong work ethic and spent his entire career in the medical supply industry. Over the years, he worked with PSS and Gulf South Medical Supply before ending his career with McKesson as a Transportation Leader. He built lasting relationships throughout his career and was respected by the many people he worked with over the years. For Francis, work was more than a career-it was a significant part of who he was.

Those who knew Fran will remember him for his loyalty, determination, generosity, and sense of humor. He had a strong personality and wasn't afraid to speak his mind, qualities that made him memorable to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Francis graduated from Interboro High School and later attended Delaware County Community College. He remained a lifelong Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite teams. He also loved live music and looked forward to opportunities to see his favorite artists perform. These were among the simple pleasures he enjoyed throughout his life.

Fran is survived by his wife, Anita Hegarty; his children, Jason Hegarty, Samantha Field and her husband, Josh Field, and Christine Hegarty; and his sisters, Deborah Reilly and Coleen Newman. He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Hegarty.

Fran will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and colleagues. His hard work, strong character, and the many relationships he built throughout his life will remain a lasting part of his legacy.

A celebration of Fran's life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Kingfish American Bistro & Wine Bar located at 3833 Freemansburg Ave, Bethlehem, PA 18020. Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Inc., Bethlehem.
