George R. Gauthier, 74, of Bethlehem, formerly of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully at home on September 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Berlin, NH, on April 14, 1951, he was the son of the late Gerard E. and Pauline (Arseneault) Gauthier.
George proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he was exposed to Agent Orange. Following his service, he pursued his education at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, earning a degree in mechanical engineering. He enjoyed a fulfilling career as a mechanical design engineer with Victaulic.
Known for his kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness, George loved with his whole heart. He and had a genuine care for people. His hobbies reflected his creativity and curiosity-he built intricate model bridges, had a passion for travel, enjoyed all things cinema, appreciated all genres of music, and never missed an opportunity to enjoy a good meal. He especially loved going out to eat with family and friends.
George was devoted to his Catholic faith and lived it through service. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Bethlehem, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and assisted with the school's aftercare program. He also crafted rosaries, reflecting his quiet devotion and desire to share faith with others and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus.
George will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of nearly 17 years, Pamela (Drake) Gauthier; his daughters, Beth LeLieve and husband, Keith, Marcy Liddick and husband, Robert, and son, Matthew Gauthier and wife, Rickie; his sisters, Monique Savage and husband, Winston, Pauline Roy and husband, Leon, and Paulette Godbout; his sister-in-law, Lucille Cook and husband, Michael; and his cherished grandchildren, Carter Gauthier, Joshua Liddick and wife, Amanda, and Matthew Liddick.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 3:00-3:45 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18020. Military honors and a Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow. Interment will be private at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
