Gerald Joseph Timko, 90, of Hellertown, formerly of Bethlehem passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital-Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Anna Mae (Batley) Timko who died May 8, 2017. Gerald was born in Fountain Hill on October 14, 1932 to the late John and Elizabeth (Grady) Timko. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for the Maintenance Department of the former Bethlehem Steel and then for the Salisbury School District in the same capacity until retiring. Gerald was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Bethlehem. He was a member of the Fountain Hill American Legion Post 406.
Survivors: children: Deborah (George) Deitzer of Lititz, Gary Timko of Bethlehem, Barbara Wolf of Bethel, Sandra Halleman of Bethlehem, Linda (Tom) Hardy of Springtown, Georgine (Jennifer Laubach) Timko of Ambler, Ronald Timko of Bethlehem; 9 grandchildren: John, Matthew, Timothy, Krysten, Patricia, Kaitlin, Adam, Benjamin, MacKenzie. Predeceased in death by sons-in-law: Carl Wolf, Jay Halleman.
Service: Will be private and at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be held at the Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Online condolences may be offered at connellfuneral.com.
Contributions: in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, donate.cancer.org.
