Geraldine A. Clearie

Geraldine A. Clearie, 91, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem.

Geraldine was born on December 20, 1934, in Linden, NJ, to the late James and Murle (Bailey) Salinger. She was the beloved wife of Ronald Clearie for 44 wonderful years until his passing in 1999.

Geraldine found great joy in her work as a preschool teacher, a career she devoted most of her life to. She loved working with children and took great pride in helping them to learn and grow. Her warmth and kindness made a lasting impression on the many children and families she cared for throughout the years.

Geraldine is survived by four sons, Ronald (Andrea) Clearie, Kevin (Linda) Clearie, Daniel (Marnie) Clearie, and Glenn (Stacey) Clearie; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren with one more on the way; her sister, Patricia Salinger; as well as many other dear family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Clearie.

A visitation and prayer service will be held in Geraldine's honor on Wednesday, September 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial will take place at Old Tennant Cemetery, next to her husband Ronald, in accordance with her wishes.
