Helen Jean Bauer

Helen “Jeanie” Jean Bauer, 90, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Cedarbrook Senior Care, Fountain Hill.

Born on July 5, 1936, Helen was the daughter of the late Marian Reese. She was married to her loving husband, William Bauer, until his passing in 1993.

Helen was a graduate of Liberty High School. Following her studies, she worked as a bookkeeper for many years. Later in life, Helen returned to the workforce, serving in clerical and payroll positions through the Bethlehem Public Library and the AARP Senior Community Service Employment Program. She took pride in her work and was known for her quiet dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. Helen was a lifelong homemaker and devoted herself to caring for her home and family. A quiet and gentle soul, she found joy in life's simple pleasures. Helen loved spending time reading good books and watching classic Hallmark movies. Independent and self-sufficient throughout her life, Helen took great pride in caring for those she loved. Above all else, she cherished her family and held a special place in her heart for her beloved pets, who brought her years of companionship and comfort.

Helen is lovingly remembered by her four daughters, Linda (Raymond) Sterner, Karen (Joseph) Felix, Lori Flatto, and Cheryl (Phil) Davis; eight grandchildren, Justin, Nick, Jess, Deanna, Katelyn, Renee, Jayden and Jason; two great-grandchildren, Harper and Levi; her brother, Fred Reese; two nieces, Carolyn and Yvette; two nephews, Parker and Ronnie; as well as many friends who will cherish her memory.

In addition to her beloved husband, Helen was also preceded in death by both her mother and her stepfather, Marian (Sorge) and Phillip Reese; as well as a niece, Donna.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home, Inc., Bethlehem.
