Obituary of Helen Gasdaska

Helen "Mokey" Gasdaska, 85, of Bethlehem, died Monday, May 1, 2006 in her home.

Born November 16, 1920 in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Xenia Nazar Moclock. She was the loving wife of John W. Gasdaska, Jr. Helen and John met in 1940 at Meely's Ball Room in Allentown. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary January 30th. Helen worked for Lehigh University as a Secretary for the Journal of Differential Geometry in the math department for 37 years. She retired in 2003. She was an officer of the Catholic Sokols and a member of Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church of Bethlehem. She will be lovingly remembered by, her husband, John, son, John W. Gasdaska, III of Bethlehem, daughters, Karen Douglass & husband Michael of Poolesville, MD, Jeanne Steinberg & husband Terry of Bethlehem, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church 617 Pierce St. Bethlehem. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. in the church. Burial will be at SS. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery, in Bethlehem.
