Hilda Rivera

Hilda Rivera, 89, of Bethlehem, passed away Thursday, May 18,2023 at St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. She was born in Puerto Rico on November 3,1933 to the late Faustino and Virginia (Vazquez) Rivera. Hilda worked as a cleaning lady for the Lehigh University for 30 years until retiring in 2000. Prior, she had worked for the former Forte Necktie Wear and Berkron Manufacturing in Bethlehem. She was a member of Holy Infancy Roman Catholic Church, Bethlehem.

Survivors: children: Jose (Lynne) Martinez of Pittsburgh, Ernesto Martinez of Bethlehem, Gloria (Gerald) Collins of West Palm Beach, Fl, Maria (Fidel) Espinosa of Bethlehem, Luz Maria (Glen) Schmidt of Salisbury Twp., Delia Martinez with whom she resided; siblings: Nelson Rivera of Devon, PA, Gladys Gonzalez of Bethlehem, Ana Santiago of Maine, Tony (Priscilla) Lugo of NJ, Eddie (Jody) Gomez of NJ, Maria Rivera of Bethlehem, Jeannette (Hector) Serrano of NJ; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. Predeceased in death by siblings: Rafael Rivera, Thomas Cruz, Aida Rivera, Edwin Rivera, Faustino Rivera & Carmen Torres.

Service: Family and friends are invited to call 6-8pm Tuesday, May 23,2023 and 8:30-9:30am Wednesday, May 24,2023 at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc.,245 East Broad Street-Bethlehem followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am, at Holy Infancy Roman Catholic Church, 312 East 4th Street-Bethlehem. The interment will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Online condolences may be offered at connellfuneral.com.
