Irene H. Bykowski, 98, of Bethlehem, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Born on December 11, 1927, in Wilkes Barre, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Belchunes and Anna (Raginsky) Belchunes. She was the loving wife of the late Charles A. Bykowski.
Throughout her life, Irene was known for her giving spirit and her open heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. An avid fan of the holidays, she particularly cherished Halloween, bringing joyful festivities to her loved ones. Irene enjoyed sharing good breakfasts with her late husband, Chester, and spent many happy moments at the casino and the dollar store, where little treasures could always be found.
A faithful member of Notre Dame Church in Bethlehem, Irene enriched the lives of those around her, making certain that visitors to her home never left hungry. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and comfort, where she ensured that everyone was well-fed and cared for.
Irene will be dearly missed by her sister, Rita Husty; nieces, Karen Kaar and her husband, Lincoln and their children, Jaden and Reagan, Dorothy Malson and her husband, Carlos and their children, Ann Marie Ruskoski and nephew, Joseph Husty.
In addition to her husband and parents, Irene is preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Belchunes; two sisters, Ann Darby and Mary Bower; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Belchunes; and godson, Joseph Belchunes.
