Irene Kocsi, 87, of Bethlehem, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson. She was the wife of Frank Kocsi, Sr. She was born on July 12, 1938 in Rabatotfalu, Hungary to the late Kalman and Katalin (Talaber) Bartakovics. Irene worked for the former Gamet and Baba's Silk Mills as a sewing machine operator. She and her family then owned and operated Frankie's Texaco on Wyandotte Hill from 1978-1992. She was a remarkable mother and grandmother, known for her boundless love, and she delighted in her role as a great-grandmother. Irene was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, Bethlehem Twp. and the Slovak Catholic Sokal Society.
Survivors: In addition to her husband of 68 years; children: Helen A. Kocsi of Bethlehem Twp., Frank (Vicki M.) Kocsi, Jr. of Freemansburg; sister: Margaret Bartakovics of Hungary; grandchildren: Cassandra, William, David, Cadi; 7 great grandchildren, she was anticipating the arrival of her 8th great grandchild. Predeceased by her brother: Joseph.
Services: Friends and family are invited to her viewing 10-11am Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at the Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 East Broad Street, Bethlehem followed by a funeral service at 11am.
