Jack D. Zavacky, 89, of Bethlehem passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026. Born on March 9, 1936 in Pen Argyl, he was the son of the late Joseph and Verna (Harris) Zavacky. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Brown) Zavacky.
Jack graduated from Pen Argyl High School where he enjoyed playing football for the Knights, now known as the Green Knights. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he received a certificate for 2,000 hour club of the 552nd Airborne Early Warning and Control Wing in the RC-121 aircraft. From 1958 to his retirement in 1996, Jack was employed by various textile companies. Jack enjoyed photography and was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. He was most proud to be Grandpa to his grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia Zavacky; daughters, Maureen Smolenyak and her husband, Tony and Jennifer Riback and her husband, Dave; brothers, Ron Zavacky and his wife, Barbara and David Zavacky and his wife, Linda; sister-in-law, Myrtle Zavacky; grandchildren, Matthew and Tighe Smolenyak and Brody Riback and step grandson, Cole Riback. Jack was preceded in death by his brother Bill Zavacky.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
