Jane A. Burk

Jane A. Burk, 91, of Bethlehem, passed away on October 18, 2026, at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Jane was born on March 15, 1935 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to the late Jacob and Sarah (Williams) Frankenfield. She was married to her loving husband, Gordon D. Burk, for nearly 65 years before his passing in December of 2018.

Jane graduated from Liberty High School in Bethlehem in 1953 and went on to devote herself to her family as a loving homemaker. Jane found comfort and enjoyment in reading. She read a variety of books but later in life she mostly read mystery novels. After Jane became visually impaired, she really enjoyed the audio books that she received through the Library of Accessible Media for Pennsylvanians (LAMP). Along with several part time jobs she was a talented seamstress. She worked as a seamstress and made clothes for her children and grandchildren. She and Gordon traveled later in life, and her favorite trip was to the Maine shoreline.

Jane is survived by her sons, Scott G. (Sue Ruhe) Burk, of Bethlehem, and Dr. Thomas A. (Bonnie) Burk, of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jane is preceded in death by her son, Dean Burk, her daughter, Pamela Burk; and her three sisters, Audrey, Marion and Louise.

A brief service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 10 a.m., at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
