Janet M. Fischer

Janet Fischer, 72, of Bethlehem Township, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 10, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Marion (Lund) and Kenneth Schuetz. She was the loving wife of the late Paul K. Fischer.

Janet's greatest joy in life was being a mother and Gammie. Her children and grandchildren were her world, and nothing meant more to her than loving, supporting, and caring for them. She was known for her kind and loving personality, her generous heart, and her way with words. Janet cherished her lifelong friendships and had a special ability to make friends wherever she went, always making others feel valued and cared for. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and being outdoors, and had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dog, Allie, and her grandpups.

Janet spent 50 years as a nurse, dedicating her life to caring for and helping countless people in her community. Her compassion and genuine concern for others were evident not only throughout her career, but in every part of her life.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ann Binder (Bill), Heather Fischer and Michael Fischer (Jenn); brothers, Russell and Douglas Schuetz; and her four grandchildren, Lily, Brynn, Noah and Layla.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 3219 Santee Rd., Bethlehem, PA 18017.
