JoAnn Venanzi, 95, of Bethlehem, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Bethlehem North Skilled Nursing and Rehab. Born on March 3, 1930, in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Mario and Josephine D'Angelo.
JoAnn earned a degree in fashion from the Traphagen School of Fashion Design, which set the stage for a remarkable career. She dedicated many years of her life to working as a blouse designer at Laros Manufacturing before transitioning to her role as a seamstress at Douglas Bridle. In this capacity, JoAnn had the privilege of helping countless brides find their perfect dress, leaving a lasting impression on every woman who walked through the door.
Outside of her professional life, JoAnn was renowned for her exceptional culinary skills. An amazing cook and baker, she learned the art of cooking from her mother-in-law, passing down those cherished recipes to her family.
JoAnn will be dearly missed by her daughter, Christina Tarkoff and her husband, Bruce; brother, Mario D'Angelo; sister-in-law, Mary D'Angelo; two grandchildren, Nicole McMahon and her husband, Jim and Michael Tarkoff and partner, Sarah Doyle; three great-grandchildren, Atlas Tarkoff, Chase McMahon, and Remi McMahon; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Venanzi; brother, George D'Angelo and sister, Theresa Spagnola.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 10-11:00 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will conclude services a Holy Saviour Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in memory of JoAnn.
