Joanne Neitz

Joanne Neitz, 77, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully at St Lukes Hospice, surrounded by her loving family on September 13, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Mikitka. She was married to Edward J Neitz, with whom she recently celebrated 52 wonderful years of marriage.

Survivors: Husband, Edward; Siblings: Marilyn Halteman, wife of Daniel, Annamarie Barrall, wife of Robert, and Marybeth Friedman, wife of Scott; Niece: Jennifer Kaltreider , wife of Adam; Nephew: Joshua Friedman; Great-Nephew and Great-Niece Michael and Mackenzie Kaltreider.

She was a 1970 graduate of Kutztown State College with a degree in Education and was a second and 1st grade teacher at Miller Heights Elementary BASD, for 39 years. She enjoyed teaching and said it was important to give her students a good educational start in life.
