John J. Senick, 92, of Bethlehem Township, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at St. Luke's Anderson Campus. Born on October 27, 1933, in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Joseph Senick, Jr. and Anna (Zurko) Senick.
John was the owner and operator of Senick, Inc., an excavating, paving, fuel oil, and air conditioning company that served the Bethlehem community for many years. A proud graduate of Liberty High School, he later pursued business courses at the University of Kentucky while serving in the United States Army as a company clerk. A master plumber by trade and a true jack of all trades, John was known for his skill, resourcefulness, and readiness to take on any challenge. He was also an active member of the Lehigh Valley Fuel Dealers Association, reflecting his long-standing commitment to his profession.
Committed to giving back to the community, John was a longtime supporter of Sacred Heart Church, generously providing snowplowing and HVAC services over the years. He served for many years as a Justice of the Peace, presiding over misdemeanor cases with fairness and integrity, and performing marriages with warmth and care. A good neighbor in every sense, John was always willing to lend a hand, offer advice, or help someone in need.
John was a devoted husband to his wife, Dottie, and later shared many meaningful years with his companion, Marilyn. Above all, he was a strong and respected family leader to his fourteen siblings, as well as to his daughters, nephews, and nieces. He was a trusted source of guidance and wisdom, offering steady support and always leading by example.
A true Philadelphia sports enthusiast, John was a loyal supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and enjoyed sharing his love of the teams with family and friends. He also valued fellowship and tradition, having established the Pine Tree Stock Club with local business associates and family members.
John will be dearly missed by his two daughters, Lisa A. Kuester and her husband, Kyle and Tama Senick and her husband, Carl Zebrowski; his companion, Marilyn Behler; three brothers, Thomas Senick, George Senick and his wife, Barbara, and Paul Senick and his wife, Jill; two sisters, Helen Young and Theresa Venseret; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ann Senick; brothers, Edward, Michael, and Joseph Senick; and sisters, Mary Nemeth, Anna Kerecz, Ella Limpar, Dorothy Timko, Catherine Fisher, and Edna Sabota.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 5-8:00 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc., 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018. Another viewing will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1817 1st St., Bethlehem, PA 18020. Burial will conclude services at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
