Jordyn Miguel Wright

September 22, 1999 — March 11, 2024

Jordyn Miguel Wright, a cherished son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2024, at the age of 24. Born on September 22, 1999, to Michael and Abigail (Vega) Wright. Jordyn will be lovingly remembered as a beacon of joy and resilience, touching the lives of all who knew him with his loving heart and intelligent mind.

Jordyn attended the Parkland School District for his K-12 education. His diploma was awarded from the Whitehall-Coplay School District in 2021. Jordyn was known for his spirited nature and his remarkable ability to defy the odds placed against him due to his disability. He had a keen interest in school which led him to play a vital role in the testing of accessible devices, contributing to a more inclusive learning environment for all students.

Jordyn's passion for life extended beyond the classroom. He was an active participant in the Easter Seals program, where he found a sense of community and purpose. His involvement with the program not only enriched his own life but also inspired others to see the potential within themselves, regardless of the challenges they may face.

Gifted with big, expressive eyes and a great laugh, Jordyn's presence was a source of warmth and happiness. He cherished his family dogs, with whom he spent countless hours playing catch. His love for animals was matched only by his love for his family, especially his devoted mother, Abigail, his father, Michael who stood by him as pillars of support and love.

An avid sports fan, Jordyn's enthusiasm for athletic events was palpable. He had the thrill of attending an NBA game, the US Open Tennis Championships and PGA practice rounds, not once but twice, experiences which filled him with great excitement. His passion for sports also led him to a memorable moment when he threw the first pitch at a Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs game, an honor that brought him immense joy.

Jordyn's zest for life was evident in his enjoyment of travel and new experiences. A trip to Disney World was a highlight, as were his visits to museums. He appreciated the beauty of snowfall and when his family would take him for walks, finding peace and contentment in these simple pleasures.

Jordyn navigated life's transitions with remarkable grace, always returning to his comforting routines and the loving embrace of his family. He slept well, knowing each day was another opportunity to embrace the world with open arms and a ready smile.

The staff and classmates at Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 held a special place in Jordyn's heart. They were not just educators and peers but friends who shared in his journey, providing support and encouragement every step of the way. Jordyn was a recipient of an award from Medals4Mettle. This organization helps in the gifting of endurance race finisher's medals to people who demonstrated mettle by dealing with disease, handicaps, or similar challenges. These medals are awarded to kids and adults fighting debilitating diseases and illnesses to spread love, kindness, and encouragement.

Jordyn was blessed to have a dedicated team of doctors from Lehigh Valley to Philadelphia who cared for him throughout his 24 years.

Loving, intelligent, and spirited—these words encapsulate the essence of Jordyn Miguel Wright. His legacy is one of courage, love, and an unwavering determination to be a participant in life. He will be deeply missed by his parents, brother, Brandon Wright, and grandmother, Andreita Vega, wife of the late Miguel Vega. As well as those extended family members and friends who were fortunate enough to have been touched by his radiant spirit. Jordyn is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Betty Wright, great grandmother, Regina Díaz, and Mike's daughter, Trisha Lynn.

As we say goodbye to Jordyn, we celebrate the remarkable life he led and the indelible impact he made on our world. We will forever carry his memory in our hearts, and his spirit will continue to inspire us to approach life with the same enthusiasm and joy that he so naturally embodied.

Jordyn's life was a testament to the power of parents love for their child and the strength of the human spirit. As we mourn his passing, we also honor the incredible life of a young man who, in his 24 years, taught us all the true meaning of resilience, happiness, and love.
