Jorge Marcos Rauen

Jorge M. Rauen 68, of Allentown passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Born in Rio Negro, Brazil on July 27, 1955, he was the son of Tereza Herzer Rauen and the late Nivaldo Rauen. He was the husband of Aurora De Cacia Rauen and loving and proud father to his two daughters Tamis and Taise Rauen.

Jorge started his career at Volvo in Brazil and later relocated to the US to Mack Trucks nearly 20 years ago. He dedicated 48 years to Volvo/Mack Trucks as a chief engineer.

Jorge’s faith was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him in every facet of his life and providing a source of strength and comfort. He was a pillar in the Holy Infancy Church community, always there to help in any way he could. From his dedication to the Parish Council, to the Irmandade de Nossa Senhora de Fatima, to Portuguese Heritage Day Celebrations, to Holy Infancy’s Multicultural Festival, Jorge was always the first to arrive to set-up and the last to leave. He was a teacher and mentor to many through the RCIA program. Mostly, through his gentle nature, he was able to bring together communities of different backgrounds in their faith. His values of hard work, compassion, and spirituality made Jorge an exemplary husband, father and friend. Jorge enjoyed running, cooking, and was adept at building and fixing anything that needed attention. He was always there with a helping hand.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Aurora and daughters, Taise Rauen (Humberto Dias) and Tamis Rauen (Andrea Rauen) as well as his many friends and coworkers at Mack and his Holy Infancy Family.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 12-1:30 p.m. at Holy Infancy Roman Catholic Church, 312 E. 4th St. Bethlehem, PA 18015. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:30 in the Church. His final resting place will be in his homeland of Brazil.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Infancy Church.
