Joseph M. Daday, MD, 71, of Bethlehem passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Holy Family Manor. Born on February 26, 1953, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen (Hayas) Daday. He was the loving husband of Ann Michele (Dean) Daday.
Joseph graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School and went on to earn his bachelors degree from the University of Notre Dame and his doctorate from Temple. As a doctor, Joe practiced family medicine for 46 years, helping and caring for countless patients. Joe dedicated his life to helping and serving others which extended to being a member of the Knights of Columbus, Order of Malta, Knight of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher and being of service to Saint Simon and Jude parish where he was a parishioner. Joe was also involved in Boy Scouts, even after earning Eagle Scout , he remained actively involved.
You could often find Joe watching Notre Dame football games, the Phillies and the Eagles. Joe especially loved trips to Notre Dame and often visited the grotto at the University, this place held a special place in his heart. He enjoyed riding roller coasters, decorating for Christmas, and reading.
Joe was a loving and devoted husband for 45 years to Anne Michele Daday. Joe will also be remembered for being a loving and devoted father. He and Ann adopted Four biological siblings Helen Huston, Marie Kristine Daday, Christopher Daday, and Jonathan Daday; this act of love allowed the children to remain together. Later Michael Daday was adopted which completed their family. Joe will always be fondly remembered by his wife, children, his brother James Daday and wife Beth, grandchildren Dominic, Isaiah, Curtis, Juliana, and Damon, niece Ashley and nephew Brandon.
A viewing will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 10-11 a.m. at Saints Simon and Jude Church, 730 W. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in the Church.
Burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saints Simon and Jude Church.
