Joseph W. Shimer

Joseph W. Shimer, 57, of Freemansburg, died Sunday, August 23, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Bethlehem, the son of John E. Shimer of Cherry Hill, NJ; and the late Roberta Check Arnold.

Joseph worked for RJM Tree Service.

He is survived by his companion, Tina FaRannte of Bethlehem; sons, Jesse Abrantes of Bethlehem; and Jerrick Abrantes of Allentown; granddaughter, Angelica and grandson, Aaron, father and step-mother, John and Marie Shimer of New Jersey; sisters, Georgina, wife of John Czar of Bethlehem; Debbie, wife of George Urich of Salisbury Twp.; step-brothers, Gary Onufer of Amdler, PA; Steve Onufer of Turnersville, NJ; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John A. Shimer, sister, Mary Ann Harold and his mother, Roberta Arnold.

Services: A Visitation will be held, Friday, August 28, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, Inc. 245 East Broad St. Bethlehem.
