Josephine Ann Zeitner, 84, of Bath, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025. Born on June 6, 1941, in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Stella Gonda (Kosman).
A proud graduate of Liberty High School, Josephine spent her career in healthcare, where she made her mark as Executive Director of Country Meadows of Bethlehem. She was a natural leader-organized, compassionate, and never afraid to tell it like it was.
She was also a devoted member of Mountain View Wesleyan Church in Moore Township, where she formed meaningful friendships and remained grounded in her faith.
In her later years, Josephine faced dementia with the same stubborn determination she brought to everything else. She was convinced she worked at the Moravian King's Daughters Home, where she proudly "watched the kids" and frequently complained that they never gave her a day off. Those who knew her best recognized this not as confusion, but as Josephine staying true to herself: working hard, being in charge, and letting everyone know when management was failing her.
Josephine will be deeply missed by her son, Zachary Zeitner, and his wife, Sheryll, as well as her beloved granddaughter, Rachel, who brought her immense pride, joy, and laughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Zeitner, and her sister, Nancy Brown.
A service celebrating Josephine's life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Moravian King's Daughters Home, 61 West Market Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018-a truly wonderful place staffed by compassionate professionals who provided exceptional care and dignity, and who somehow managed to keep Josephine employed full-time without ever putting her on the schedule.
