Leonard F. Knablin

Leonard F. "Lenny" Knablin, 76, of Hellertown, PA and formerly of Darien, CT, died Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Hospice of the VNA of St. Luke?s, Lower Saucon Twp. Born September 18, 1930, in Bridgeport, CT; he was the son of the late Michael and Catherine Dowling. He was the loving husband of Ester Szalay Knablin of Hellertown. They celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on November 29th.

Lenny graduated from Bridgeport University. He worked for The Burndy Corporation in Norwalk, CT where he supervised 90 people in making electrical connectors. Before retiring, he also worked for Pharo Garden Center. He was a veteran of the army serving in WWII. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, enjoyed working on the computer and had a passion for gardening. "Lenny loved his flowers".

He will be lovingly remembered by, his wife, Ester, brother, Michael Dowling of Milford, CT; a sister, Ellen Farina of Bridgeport, CT; and many nieces & nephews.

All arrangements are being handled by Connell Funeral Home, 245 East Broad St; Bethlehem where a funeral service will be held, Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be from 9-10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
